Shake It EP (feat. Claire G. Phunk, Tatted Up Toon & Rayna MC)

A 4 track breaks ep (19m 45s) — released March 10th 2014 on Breakbeat Paradise

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings presents JiggyJoe with his EP named 'Shake It'.
The 'Shake It' EP combines JiggyJoes unique mix of rare grooves, old school hip hop, ghetto funk, breakbeat and dubstep along with some latin, arabian style and 90s synth flavors.

The title tune is produced with a true legend in the Funky Breaks scene: Skeewiff, who is known and loved for his breakbeat contributions – dating all the way back to the bigbeat era. Skeewiff has released a number of albums on Jalapeno Records as well as his own Pedigree Cuts and we are proud to now have him feature on BBP release. Another legend features on a remix for this EP – Ursula 1000 from New York is throwing down some bangin' beats on his version of the Shake It track. Finally the B-side features countryman Jazz.K.lipa in the co-pilot chair on the Welcome track.

JiggyJoe has been a DJ for 13 years playing various styles of music and has played in various parts of the world including his homeland Germany, the UK, Spain, USA, Russia, Canada and many more. With guests on this EP including 'Claire G Phunk & Rayna MC' who were featured on BadboEs 'Pump up the Funk' album from 2012 and newcomer 'Tatted up Toon' this promises to be an EP worth waiting for.

Shake It EP is the very first JiggyJoe's artist EP to come out on vinyl and it's also the first glance of what to expect of JiggyJoe's full length album called Get Jiggy!, which is set to be released over the summer – right here on BBP.

A1. Shake it (Original). The first tune kicks off with a distinctive Latin feel. Not what you would expect from a native German but JiggyJoe and Skeewiff does it seamlessly and with consummate ease. The smooth but growly wobble bass is ever present and the vocals fit perfectly alongside it, you could easily imagine samba drums and soccer tricks alongside this Latin pumper.

A2. Shake it (Ursula 1000 Remix). A remix of the title track, this kicks off with distinct Ghetto Funk beats. Expect early 90s Hip-Hop cowbells and synths alongside classic 8-bit sounds. It is definitely an old meets new scenario. It has a little of everything, funk guitar licks, ethnic vocals teasing in the background, ghetto funk beats and the hooks from the original vocals. A worth remix and a break from the norm.

B1. Welcome. Next up is another influenced by ethnic music. The beautiful Arabic tones of this are sure to please many ears. Reminiscent of Shahin Badar (Arabian vocalist sampled by the prodigy in 'Smack my Bitch Up') this is sure to be a magic carpet ride for any listener. Think New Delhi meets New York! Hip-Hop/Rap style vocals flip this on its head to give it a definitive and original sound that only JiggyJoe could pull off.

B2. My Town. The last one on the EP has a definite futuristic sound to it. Mixing percussive drums, reggae organs and reverberating vocals this crosses a few genres and is sure to be a hit.
It doesn't head in one direction but covers many bases. JiggyJoe seems to systematically cross one genre with another and another and then maybe another to make his own sound very unique and obvious to spot in a crowd. Where's JiggyJoe? There, obviously! Eat your heart out Wally.
