Always hungry for funky soul and finding it an increasing challenge to unearth classic dancefloor dope they hadn't already heard, Mako & Mr Bristow have spent the last few years finding old cuts that either weren't funky enough (or weren't funky at all) and transforming them into the funkiest of soul without them overtly sounding like edits to those who didn't know the originals.
Now, after four previous sell-out 7"s (two of which have been re-pressed), they return with Stank Soul Edits Vol. 5. The appropriately-named Funky Diggin' re-imagines an obscure 70s soul-rock 45 as a dancefloor anthem for crate-diggers everywhere while Dynamic B-Boy sees monster drum breaks grafted onto a cut straight from the 70s psych-soul underground.
